Situated on a Game Farm at Salt Lake, between Douglas and Hopetown, Northern Cape, South Africa.
Only 45 min from the N12 and hour and a half’s drive from Kimberley, Witfontein Game Lodge is the perfect hidden gem of the Northern Cape. It boasts 5 km of dramatic Orange River frontage and is home to number of wildlife species and veldt types.
The business is owned and run by Todd and Johandri Dugmore.
We were both born and raised in the area and deeply passionate about our location. We both have rich family histories, both English and Afrikaans. We are deeply rooted in the area through generations of both families inhabiting land in the area dating back as far as the 1820’s.
The homestead on the farm has been converted into a lodge suitable for, families, friends, business groups, team building and school groups. The luxury lodge accommodates groups up to 25 guests, offering tasty and hearty South African family style meals.
We love people, adventure, nature and the outdoors. We are passionate about building relationships and making a difference in people’s lives. Having grown up as two local farm children, we now have the wonderful privilege of being able to share our backyard and passions with you and others. We would love for you to experience the authenticity and heartiness of this area and its people.

Accommodation, activities and more
Witfontein Game Lodge offers accommodation for up to 25 guests. Different rooms are available and can be arranged to suit your needs. There are rooms with 2 to 5 beds, which can be made up as single or King-size beds. Four of the rooms have en-suite bathroom facilities. There is a large comfortable dining / lounge area for everyone to enjoy and a full kitchen available for self-catering. We do offer various catering options with prior arrangement.
We have activities for the whole family and even your furry friends are welcome.
Outdoor activities include: river rafting or kayaking, game drives, fishing, swimming, walking- and mountain biking routes and other farm activities the children will love. You can also enjoy a big bonfire or braai in our boma.
Come join us for a few days, a quick break-away or a stop-over on route to the Cape or the North. We have so much to share with you and we eagerly await your arrival.
Offering full day or half day activities, river rafting is suitable and safe for anyone between the ages of 3 and 73. The scenery is beautiful and combined with river fun, this is an experience not to miss. River rafting on kayak or raft, is ideal for team building, a family getaway or fun with friends.
Duggy’s uses Witfontein Game Lodge as home base and an inclusive hearty meal awaits the brave river runners back at the Lodge after an unforgettable 3-5 hours on the water.
