Duggy’s Orange River Rafting
Join us for an adventure of river rafting on the beautiful Orange River, South Africa’s largest river.
Offering full day or half day activities, river rafting is suitable and safe for anyone between the ages of 3 and 73. The scenery is beautiful and combined with river fun, this is an experience not to miss. River rafting on kayak or raft, is ideal for team building, a family getaway or fun with friends. We provide life-jackets and helmets and groups can vary between 8 and 25 people for a kayak trip. For bigger groups like a school or a corporate outing, we make use of rafts. Please feel free to enquire about more options.
Duggy’s uses Witfontein Game Lodge as home base and an inclusive hearty meal awaits the brave river runners back at the Lodge after an unforgettable 3-5 hours on the water.
Witfontein Game Lodge is truly fortunate to have one of the most beautiful and fun, yet very safe stretches of the mighty Orange River right on their doorstep. Guests have the option to include accommodation with their River adventure. Self-catering or catering with prior arrangements is available for overnighters.

What to wear when river rafting
WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING WHEN GOING ON THE RIVER:
- Cap or hat with brim (The Northern Cape sun is brutal )
- A buff is very advisable
- Quick drying shirt (preferably with long sleeves and collar )
- Swimsuit and/or pants that cover legs
- Sturdy footwear – sandals with straps (no flip-flops), sneakers, wetsuit boots
- Gloves gym/cycle/rugby ) if you are prone to blisters
- Lots of sun block
- 2 Water bottles (freeze them the night before to last longer)
- Sunglasses with tie-backs
- Sandwich & snacks (e.g. jelly babies/ jungle bars / nuts) for on the river, the trip can take up to 3 hours
- Isotonic drink (Game) to mix with water
- Set of dry clothes, shoes & towel
- Bag for wet clothes
- Your adventurous spirit and a sense of humour (this is compulsory)
Do not take any valuables on the river unless you are willing to donate them to the mighty Orange River 🙂

RIVER RAFTING AND ACCOMMODATION:
2023/2024 prices
1. One day rafting down the Orange River with a Fluid Buddy kayak – R 890 pp
Includes kayak or raft, paddle, helmet, lifejacket, transport & a meal at Witfontein Game Lodge.
2. One day rafting & one night stay at WF Game Lodge (Selfcatering) – R 1490 pp
Includes one day rafting, a meal afterwards and one night accommodation at Witfontein Game Lodge.
3. One day rafting & two night stay at WF Game Lodge (Selfcatering) – R 2090
Includes one day rafting, one meal, two nights stay at Witfontein Game Lodge and a Game drive.
Ideal Group size: 8 – 26 people. We are flexible, so please feel free to contact Johandri or Todd if you require any further information.
Kindly note, to confirm reservations a non-refundable 50% deposit is payable within 48 hours in order to secure your booking – (or within 12 hours if enquiry is made 3 days or less before expected date of arrival) Price will vary if the group is less than eight people.
